Business Update

First, of all, I would like to say 'Thank You' to everyone that has supported us over the past 18 months. Running a retailer has been challenging to say the least. That said, we are still standing tall, we continue to support our amazing charity partners, and we look to the future.

As you are not on our regular email list, it is difficult to tell you about certain issues, so I felt a quick update may help things. Don't worry, you haven't been added to our regular marketing.

STORES TO REMAIN CLOSED IN 2021

Many of you will have come across us by visiting one of our shops and you may be planning to visit us before Christmas to make purchases. Our store in the City of London (Leadenhall Market) has been closed since the beginning of pandemic and, given recent news, we do not believe it would be sensible to reopen before the end of the year. We will also not be attending any further sales events.

Protecting our staff, customers and the public is paramount, so we will be moving purely online for the rest of 2021. I am very sorry if this is an inconvenience to you but hopefully we have all got used to online shopping over the past year or so.

EXPECT MORE SHOPS IN 2022

That said, we are not pulling away from physical retail altogether. Quite the opposite. We look forward to welcoming you at one of the several new stores we have planned for 2022. While the pandemic has been extremely challenging for all retailers, it has also opened some doors to smaller ones. Many of you visited our Port Isaac store during the summer and we are using the experience as a platform to go back to our ocean roots. Expect to see us in a number of new, exciting, and more permanent, locations next year.

SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES

As well as the obvious impacts of Covid-19, you'll notice a lot of 'pre-sales' among your favourite retailers at the moment, which is short for 'supply chain issues'. These are both pandemic and Brexit related. Thank you for being patient with those members of staff on phone and email that have to put out the inevitable fires. Our stock is now all accounted for and you should be receiving orders as normal (and if anything is delayed a member of the team should have been in contact with timings).

It felt like we said it last year (!), but here's to 2022 being the year when it all goes back to normal.

Thank you again, and we hope to see you (online or in-store) at some point soon.

Best wishes,
